The team
AOHK is run by a volunteer Coordinator currently supported by 4 volunteers, including 1 fundraising volunteer/qualified teacher, 1 teacher (unqualified) and 1 cook.
The Organisation counts a total of 12 official members assisting the Coordinator in decision-making on administrative matters.
Our community
“I am because we areâ€, says the well-known African idiom.
A community is a group of individuals coming together and joining their forces to carry out activities serving the general interest. We define our community as being the 58 children attending the centre, their parents/guardians or relatives, the members of the Organisation as well as all residents of the Kibera village of Soweto West. AOHK aims at bringing our community members together and at empowering them to change the community for the better.
The little Angels of Hope
The centre currently welcomes approximately 58 children aged between 3 and 13 years old.
